2017 Ex Hire Bikes
With the 2017 season done and dusted (?mudded) it’s time for our annual ex-hire bike sale! This year we’ve got a bigger range and quantity than ever before, including a big chunk of bikes which are really as new having only been used for one event in autumn 2017. The majority of our bikes have been used throughout one season and so have some cosmetic defects, such as minor scuffs and scratches. All Drover Cycles hire bikes are maintained throughout their lifetime with us and treated to a service after every ride! You are also welcome to bring your bike in for a free tune-up within 4-6 weeks of purchase!
Be sure to get in touch to bag yourself a quality ex-hire bike. Don’t miss out on a bargain!
Bikes in this category are designed for forestry tracks, dirt roads, towpaths and the like. So if you are looking for a mountain bike for non-technical off-road riding, the Tufftrax is a great choice. The hydraulic disc brakes are powerful, reliable and low maintenance and a suspension fork means it’ll be more comfortable on bumpier terrain. Of course there’s nothing to stop you riding this MTB on the road and, thanks to not-too-knobbly tyres, you won’t find the ride sluggish. This is a good entry-level bike if you are just getting in to mountain biking and the smaller sizes make an excellent first adult bike for teenagers. Available with 27.5″ wheels in frame sizes 13″, 15″ and 17″ or with 29″ wheels in frame sizes 19″ and 21″.

What’s more we use a different wheelset and tyre on these bikes throughout the season and then refit the original wheels including new and unused tyres, tube and rotors. A hybrid, or leisure bike, combines elements of an MTB and a road bike. Big wheels, front suspension and an upright riding position ensure comfort while hydraulic disc brakes and low gears open up opportunities to tackle steeper and / or off-road rides. The Merida Crossway 100D is equally at home on the commute as it is on gravel tracks and towpaths. It makes a great choice for family and leisure cycling, and can be kitted out with mudguards for all-weather rides, or racks for longer distance load-carrying. These bikes are comfortable, reliable and practical but nippy enough to make road riding fun too! We have standard and step-through models available.
