Get a wriggle on – dual slalom racing is coming to Llandod!

We’re taking our fun race format to Llandrindod Wells in a week’s time, as part of the town’s inaugural bike fest.

We promise an evening of high-octane, pedal-powered fun for the festival’s opening event.

Anyone aged five and up can enter and the short, gently-sloping course can be raced on any bicycle – but the grass track favours mountain bikes and BMXs.

A dual slalom sees riders racing head-to-head through a series of tight turns.

We’ll have a range of age categories – with winners’ medals and prizes for the fastest riders in each.

Dual slalom racing went down a storm at Hay Bike Fest – if you’re you’re unsure what to expect check out the video highlights below.

We’re anticipating a lot of demand and recommend entering in advance at the shop on Forest Road, Hay, for just £3, or give us a call on 01497 822 419 to secure a place.

On-the-day entry will cost £5.

The event will be signposted from the ‘Cycle Village’ Festival HQ beside Llandod’s Victorian boating lake.

Llandrindod Wells has a long history of cycling, being the home of the National Cycle Collection – the most impressive public collection of old and new bicycles in the world and second only to a private collection in Norway.

Cycle Fest events will showcase a stunning array of on and off-road routes. Wales has long been recognised as the mountain biking capital of the UK and – with its endless quieter roads – is an absolute must for anyone who wants to experience first class mountain biking and road riding.

The Festival has been designed to appeal to serious cyclists as well as beginners and families, from the youngest balance bike learner to children of all ages.

Other attractions include trade stands, food stalls, bouncy castle and climbing wall.
