Genesis Day One Disc
Genesis showed a prototype, conceptual version of this bike on our blog in Summer 2011, and never really had any intention of putting it into production. However, that single blogpost generated such a huge level of interest and had Genesis fans literally begging us to make this bike, we had to oblige! It’s quite simple really, a disc-specific, singlespeed version of our Day One ‘cross bike.
Lovely clean lines and the perfect bike for a 2 hour Sunday blast down bridleways, woodland trails and country lanes. Singlespeed, well, you either get it or you don’t. Here at Genesis we’re big fans of the ol’ ‘one gear’ and believe there is no purer way to ride.
It may not be the bike you ride day in day out, but in the darker months of the year you’ll find yourself pulling this bike out the shed time and time again. Genesis Day One Alfine 8
The Day One Alfine 8 returns for another year but with an all new deep metallic red colour with silver components and finishing kit. A slightly more classical, toned-down look than previous years, but perhaps a bit more timeless, after all, the solid spec should ensure years of hassle-free pedalling.
A bike originally conceived for conquering long distance paths, this bike has become a super commuter in its own right. Stand beside any cycle highway in London at rush hour and I can guarantee you will see at least one of these elegant steel steeds fly past.
With drop bars paired with Versa shifters for maximum ride comfort and all-day efficiency, a comfortable Reynolds 520 Cro-Mo steel frame and fork and a parts list that’s both reliable and minimal, it’s perfectly suited to anything from the daily commute to inspiring epic rides. Very much a case of “if it ain’t broke…”. The Day One 11 returns unchanged for this year, after being one of our most successful models in 2012. A bike inspired and born out of Vin Cox’s round the world record. A classy pairing of a lightweight Reynolds 853 frameset and Shimano Alfine 11sp drivetrain – all day comfort and reliability mile after mile after mile.
Versa shifters have allowed us to use an 11 speed Alfine hub with drop bars for all-day efficiency.
Without dount one of the prettiest, but also one of the most versatile bikes in their range. Perfectly suited to anything from a daily commute to a few months getting lost in Europe and exploring the beautiful world around us.

Genesis Croix De Fer
As ready to race as it is to explore, our new lightweight triple-butted ALX9 6069 cyclocross frameset features a beefed-up XX44 oversize headtube and matching tapered steerer fork to help keep the front end ‘on the straight and narrow’ and the steering precise with minimal deflection.
Specced with Shimano’s new CX50 46/36T cyclocross chainset and Avid’s excellent BB5 mechanical disc brakes, the Vapour Disc is a capable, race-ready straight from the the box. Mudguard and rear rack eyelets add a smattering of everday versatility (aggro tourer, anyone?)
The Vapour is light enough for sportives and the rear rack and guard eyelets means it’s the perfect weekend tourer also. The new stiffer front end might even tempt you to ride it along your local mountain bike trails. Can you justify a cross bike? You can when a bike is this versatile.

Vapour.
Genesis Vapour
At first glance the Vapour is a traditional CX bike in every sense of the term (canti brakes, toptube-routed cables, bags of mud clearance, etc), but look a bit closer and you’ll find some choice speccing that signals much wider scope and a very versatile bike.
The compact road (34/50T) chainset matched to a long-range 12-28T cassette out back gives ample gearign for use both on and off-road whilst the rear rack and mudguard eyelets also hint to all-weather commuting duties. Finished in an unassuming stealthy black finish, the Vapour is built around a 6061 double-butted aluminium frame and carbon-legged fork for a low overall weight and excellent power transfer.
Top-tube routed cables mean snag-free shouldering when it’s time to pick it up and run. Whether a roamer, a racer or simply a commuter/escaper, the Vapour answers the call – one bike, many hats.

Genesis Vapour Disc
Last years’ boundary-blurring, runaway success story returns for another year in a fresh new practical paintjob. Loved equally by commuters and weekend adventurers, the Croix De Fer is the ideal ‘fun’ bike to have in the shed. A bike for “someone who rides whatever is in front of him rather than aligning to a particular tribe.”
Now synomous with the Genesis brand, we were unsure as to how the Croix de Fer would be received when we first introduced it back in 2010. We needn’t have worried though; the Croix de Fer has become one of Genesis’ greatest success stories.
Equally well suited to year-round commuting on asphalt, hammering down sun baked bridleways or even exploring the world. It’s a versatile and beautiful bicycle that crosses many boundaries. For some time it was the holder of a Guinness World Record when in 2010, in pursuit of an often-contested record, Vin Cox rode his Croix De Fer around the world faster than anyone had managed before. To prove this bikes versatility further, in August 2011 the Montane Icemen used a pair of Croix de Fers to circumnavigate the 1600 mile coast line of Iceland in just 14 days.
The spec hasn’t really changed much since its’ inception – testament to the fact that they got it right first time.
