drover cycles interior

We bade farewell to our workshop manager Tom Sturdy recently. With Tom embarking on ventures new (not to mention fatherhood!) we have a vacancy at Drover HQ for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to head-up the workshop.

Where are we?

Drover Cycles is located in Hay on Wye on the edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons and with the world-class riding of mid-Wales on our doorstep.

Established in 2007, we’re a cycle hire business, bike shop and repair/service centre. The business has enjoyed sustained growth and in 2012  re-located to larger purpose-built premises on the edge of the town.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-today running and development of our increasingly busy workshop – offering repairs, servicing and custom builds, as well as maintenance of an extensive hire fleet.

You’ll need to be willing to work hard, with hours at times being both long and anti-social. You will have experience of cycle maintenance, preferably with qualifications (Cytech or equivalent), and will require a methodical problem-solving approach to work.  In addition you will have excellent people skills, with the role requiring direct, face-to-face and telephone contact with customers. You will be able to work capably under pressure and to deadlines, while maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.

In return, we offer the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, successful, and growing business.  In the long term you will have the chance to develop with the business and be compensated accordingly.  Meanwhile we offer a competitive salary of £13k-£16k p/a depending on experience and rising as the role develops. There’s also a generous staff discount, flexible working patterns, excellent training and a market-leading pension scheme.

Of course there are also lots of opportunities to ride your bike(s), both as part of your role and outside work!

If you are passionate about bikes and cycling, looking to further your career in this growing industry, and think you have what it takes to succeed as part of our team, we’d love to hear from you.

We recognise and value the diversity of our staff and believe the business benefits as a result of our diverse staff base.  We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all.  We are committed to offering flexible working options where this is possible and appropriate.
