Hundreds of mums and dads are counting down the hours until the Starry Skies camping experience in a weeks’ time – and so are we!
Starry Skies kicks off the summer holidays in style and is billed as the perfect family camping holiday, set in a stunning location in the Monnow Valley, just a stone’s throw from the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
Besides the live music, day trips, craft workshops & pampering from the on-site massage and holistic treatment team, there’s a raft of inspiring activities to help kids reconnect with nature and the great outdoors.
There are forest schools, wild walks and woodland play sessions, while the more adventurous can try their hand at canoeing, climbing and den building.
And of course we’ll be in residence encouraging a bit of two-wheeled adventure with bike hire and cycling activities for parents and children alike.
From July 23-27th you can try out our on-site Woodland Wander mountain bike trail. Think of it as a nature trail on two wheels, in a safe traffic-free environment. This short loop of just a couple of kilometres is aimed at children – parents are welcome to ride with the littluns, or accompany on foot – and takes in easy forest tracks and open pasture. We’ll have a full range of quality Frog kids’ bikes for hire – suiting ages from 2 right up to 12 – for just £10 for a couple of hours.
If you fancy venturing further afield, how about signing up for the Skenfrith one-way cycle, available July 24-26th?
The six-mile, self-guided route follows undulating, quiet country lanes to the picturesque village of Skenfrith where you can have lunch at the award-winning Bell Inn or spend a lazy afternoon exploring the castle and paddling in the River Monnow. You can cycle back to base or take it easy by loading the bikes on the trailer and catching the shuttle bus. The family rate of £50 includes bike hire for two adults and two children, or rent two adult bikes for £30.
Come and find us at the festival site in the Contour Outdoor tent, or pre-book rides and bike hire by calling us on 01497 822 419.
