The second round in Red Kite’s mid-Wales enduro series kicks off next weekend, and in a change to original plans the racing will return to Coed Trallwm near Llanwrtyd Wells.

Nant yr Arian trail centre was to host the second event but – faced with trail building limitations – Red Kite have opted for a rematch at Trallwm.

That doesn’t mean riders who competed in the opening round can expect stages to be the same – on the contrary!

Red Kite’s Neil Delafield promised: ‘The timed sections will be a mix of freshly cut trails and sections of the trail centre tracks, plus we also add a few man-made features into the sections, such as wooden steps, raised sections and rock gardens.

‘The Red Kite Events trail team puts a lot of time into building the trails for each round.

‘Coed Trallwm allows us to carve out very challenging trails which will push the limits for most riders. Our stages are designed to give most riders a WTF moment every so often, and even the best riders may struggle to put in 100% clean runs.’

Round two can be raced as a two-day (Saturday and Sunday) contest, or as a single-day (Sunday) event.

The format has been undergone some tweaks and four of the stages will be open on Saturday April 18th for morning practice and then for timed runs in the afternoon.

Sunday April 19th is for timed runs only, on 7 stages.

The two-day riders will compete against each other over 11 stages across the 2 days.

The Sunday-only riders will be racing each other over 7 stages.

The opening round saw riders commenting on the laid-back atmosphere and once again linking sections between stages will not be timed so you can take your time and hang out with your pals.

We will be in attendance once again providing emergency spares and repairs, as well as a bike hire / demo service.

We have Pyga One-Ten and One-Twenty full-sussers to hire or demo, as well as Transition’s all new Scout, plus a fleet of Genesis hardtails – both 650b and 29er.
