Red Kite Mondraker Enduro Series Sat May 23rd – Sun May 24th.
Gravity-style enduro racing returns to mid Wales next weekend with Round Three of Red Kite Events’ Mondraker Enduro Series kicking off in the Crychan and Irfon Forests near Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys.
The event will double as the Welsh National Enduro Championships.
Organiser Neil Delafield, of Llanwrtyd-based Red Kite, told us: ‘Unfortunately British and Welsh Cycling are currently not recognising gravity-style enduro events as being worthy of an official National Champs, so we have decided to hold our own!’
It’s not the first time Crychan and Irfon have hosted a Red Kite enduro – Neil used the venue to test the concept last year – but timed stages have been redesgined and will mostly feature fresh cut trails for 2015.
Said Neil: ‘If you rode in Round One or Two, rest assured that though we may be moving to a new location, the new trails will be just as good, if not better.’
Event sponsors will be on-site throughout the weekend.
Besides us (hosting an emergency spares and repairs service as well as providing food!), you’ll find the likes of Mondraker, Muc-Off, Trail 42, Skratch labs nutrition and Mule Bar.
If you’re unsure what to expect from a Red Kite enduro event, we can guarantee technically-challenging, tight and steep trails. The terrain varies from loose bedrock to drifty loam. Stages are designed to test riders’ skills to the limit, with only the best guaranteed a clean run.
All this combined with the most relaxed vibe you’ll find at any mountain bike event, anywhere!
