Find Us…

Drover Cycles is an independent bike shop based in Hay on Wye in the Welsh borders. We are on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, about halfway between Brecon and Hereford, with lots of lovely riding opportunities on our doorstep!

Our address is Drover Cycles, Forest Road, Hay on Wye, HR3 5EH
Find us by public transport… Our nearest rail stations are Abergavenny and Hereford. A regular bus service connects Hay with Brecon to the West, and Hereford to the East. On Sundays Hay is served by the Hay Ho Bus. Once you alight from the bus, walk through the car park to the bottom corner (where the recycling bins are) and join a footpath which leads behind the school and emerges on Forest Road. Turn left and you’ll soon see our big blue and green sign. 5 minutes tops. View Larger Map
Find us by car… We have on-site parking though this is limited on weekdays. At weekends we have more parking available and you are welcome, by arrangement, to leave your car with us while you go for a ride or wander into Hay to sample the town’s delights. If approaching from the Brecon direction (West) you will enter Hay on the B4350. Enter Hay and, just as the road swings to the left, look out for a turning on the right. This is Forest Road. Turn right here and you will soon see our sign up ahead of you. If you take the A438, turn off at Clyro and follow the B4351 into Hay. Cross the bridge over the River Wye and turn right at The Three Tuns. Drive up the hill and keep straight ahead at the top. Pass The Swan Hotel on your right and now look out for a turn on your left. This is Forest Road. Turn here and you will soon see our sign up ahead of you. Finally, if approaching via the Golden Valley (from Ross on Wye direction), enter Hay on the B4350 and pass the main car park (left) and Hay Castle (right) to reach a t-junction. Turn left and pass The Swan Hotel on your right. Continue down the hill and now look our for a turn on your left. This is Forest Road. Turn right here and you will soon see our sign up ahead of you.
Facilities… As well as parking (for bikes and cars) we have toilet and shower facilities on site which customers are welcome to use. No need to drive home in a muddy state after that epic ride. We also have an onsite cafe serving hot and cold drinks and snacks – check out our Cafe at Drover Cycles microsite for more details and latest opening times. FuelElectric Vehicle Charging If you own an electric vehicle, please note that we are home to Hay on Wye’s only EV charge point! We have a slow charger (standard 3-pin plug, 3kW) and a fast charger (Commando style socket, 7kW). If you don’t know which charger you need, check out Zap Map’s handy guide. Our charge point is available during our opening hours but if you are stuck in Hay in need of a charge after closing time, please phone or email us and we’ll see if we can help. As EV drivers we know all about running out of range!
